What are the contribution limits for a SIMPLE Roth IRA?
SIMPLE Roth IRA contribution limits are the same as traditional SIMPLE IRA limits. These limits apply to the combined total of Roth and pre-tax salary deferrals.
For 2026, IRS limits include:
-
$17,000 for most SIMPLE IRA plans
-
$18,100 for certain eligible plans under SECURE 2.0
Catch-up contributions:
-
$4,000 for participants age 50 or older
-
$5,250 for participants age 60 to 63 under special SECURE 2.0 rules
These limits apply to total SIMPLE salary deferrals, not separately to Roth and traditional contributions.
