When is the deadline to contribute to a Traditional IRA?
You have until the federal tax filing deadline to make contributions for the prior year. This deadline is usually April 15 unless the IRS announces an extension. When you contribute, you can choose whether the funds should apply to the previous tax year or the current one.
This extended contribution window gives you additional time to plan your retirement savings strategy, evaluate your finances, and possibly adjust your taxable income before filing your tax return.
